Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions for Jay Easy Moving Service.

When hiring a professional moving company, it is essential to understand the terms and conditions that govern the service agreement between the customer and the moving company. At Jay Easy Moving Service, we strive to provide high-quality moving services, ensuring the safety of your belongings during the moving process. Below is a summary of the key terms and conditions that apply to the services we provide:

1. Agreement to Terms

By hiring Jay Easy Moving Service, customers agree to the terms and conditions outlined in our service agreement and disclaimer. This includes all aspects of the moving process, from packing and transportation to delivery and potential claims. It is important for customers to carefully review these terms prior to confirming any booking with us.

2. Limitations of Liability

While Jay Easy Moving Service will exercise care and professionalism in handling all items, we cannot be held responsible for damages to items that were not packed or handled by our moving staff, such as self-packed boxes or furniture already damaged. Furthermore, our liability is limited to a basic compensation rate of $1500 max unless the customer purchases additional coverage or insurance before the move.

We also do not assume responsibility for damage caused by pre-existing conditions or normal wear and tear. In the unlikely event that damage occurs, the company will only cover the costs of items damaged directly by our staff’s actions, up to the specified value limit.

3. Prohibited and Excluded Items

To ensure the safety of both our crew and your belongings, certain items are excluded from our moving services. These include hazardous materials, perishable goods, firearms, illegal substances, and high-value items such as cash, jewelry, or important documents. We advise customers to ensure these items are removed before the move begins. Failure to disclose or remove such items could result in the refusal of service or additional charges.

4. Reporting Damage and Claims Process

In the event of damage during the move, customers must submit a formal written claim within a specified time frame of 2 days. This claim should include supporting documentation, such as photographs of the damage and a detailed description. We take damage claims seriously and will work diligently to resolve them, but please note that our liability is limited, as outlined above.

5. Delays and Force Majeure

Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control may cause delays during the move. These could include extreme weather, traffic congestion, mechanical issues with our moving vehicles, or any other unexpected event. While we aim to deliver services on time, Jay Easy Moving Service cannot be held responsible for delays caused by these external factors.

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that plans can change, and we strive to accommodate our customers. If you need to cancel or reschedule your moving date, we request that you notify us as soon as possible. Cancellations or rescheduling must occur within a specific time frame of 48 hours to avoid penalties. Any cancellations made after this window may be subject to a cancellation fee, as outlined in the service agreement.

7. Payment Terms

Upon completion of the moving services, full payment is due for the services rendered. If payment is not received within the agreed-upon timeframe, the customer may incur additional charges, including late fees, interest, or collection costs. The payment terms and rates are detailed in the service contract or estimate provided before the move.

8. Binding Nature of the Agreement

By accepting our moving services, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement. This includes any supplementary agreements, estimates, or terms provided during the booking process. The terms and conditions outlined here are binding upon both parties and supersede any prior agreements or discussions.

What to include in the T&C document

Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.
